Workshops 1st SESSION
Workshop 1: BCDP - The Importance of Clinicopathological Correlation in Dermatology
- Histological evaluation of a skin biopsy is an essential diagnostic tool in dermatology. However, the combination of clinical information and histological information is often required to come to a correct diagnosis. In this workshop a carrousel of enigmatic, recently described or instructive cases will be presented in an interactive clinicopathologic way.
- Dr. Marc Haspeslagh (DERMPAT)
- Dr. Sven Lanssens (Dermatologie Maldegem)
- Prof. Sofie De Schepper (UZ Gent)
Workshop 2: BADO - Skin cancer: to screen or not to screen.
- Epidemiological studies indicate a sharp increase in the incidence of skin cancer. Euromelanoma has substantially contributed to early detection of cutaneous melanoma and other skin cancers. Total body skin screenings take up a large part of a dermatologist’s daily practice. The aim of this workshop is to come to a more rational management of secondary skin cancer prevention.
- Prof. Lieve Brochez (UZ Gent)
- Prof. Marjan Garmyn (KUL)
- Prof. Arjen Nikkels (CHU Liège)
Workshop 3: BSPD - Common and uncommon didactic clinical cases in pediatric dermatology
- Dr. Valérie Dekeuleneer (UCLouvain)
- Dr. Deborah Salik (HUDERF)
- Dr. Karine Despontin (UCLouvain)
- Dr. Caroline Colmant (KUL)
Workshop 4: BLG - Basics and physics of dermatological laser therapy and beyond… a laser perspective on hormonal skin conditions: melasma, acne and hirsutism
- To perform laser treatments in daily practice it is primordial to understand the fundamental principles of laser. Once we have freshen up the basics, we will dive deeper into hormonal skin conditions for which laser therapy can play an important role in the therapeutic arsenal. Illustrated by cases from laser practice, the laser ins and outs of melasma, acne and hirsutism will be discussed.
- Prof. An Van Laethem (KUL)
- Dr. Beatrijs Heykants (AZ Turnhout)
- Dr. Samira Baharlou (VUB)
- Dr. Muriel Creusot (Centre Derm. du ROY)

Workshop 6: BCEDG - Allergic contact dermatitis to topical pharmaceuticals
- Contact dermatitis from topical drugs (local anesthetics, local antibiotics and corticosteroids). Clinical presentations and management.
- Dr. Stefan Kerre (Dermatologie Aarschot)
- Prof. Anne Herman (UCLouvain)
